    Patty and The Buttons preach the gospel of hot rhythm and happy feet. The band is similar to what you would find in a dance hall, cafe or nightclub anywhere around the world between 1920-1940. Despite being an ensemble firmly rooted in tradition, the band presents their music without being shackled to history. They play their own compositions as well as takes on music of the era. Patty’s eclectic taste gives the band diverse influences including New Orleans Traditional Jazz, Western Swing, Gypsy Melodies, Ragtime Piano Blues, Jug Music and 1930′s Popular Song. Reservation Policy

We host live music most Wednesday - Saturday nights after 7pm and Sunday morning brunch. Most shows require a cover charge per person. Please scroll to "Book your experience" below and purchase your ticket. For reservations of large groups of 8 or more guests, please call the restaurant or email info@astercafe.com and we will try to accommodate you. We don't reserve patio seating for any size party. If you use a credit card, we charge an additional 3% to help offset processing costs. This amount is not more than we pay in fees. We do not charge this fee on debit cards.

We open Tuesday-Friday at 4 pm and Saturday-Sunday at 10 am. General reservations are only made for dining indoors when there is no live music scheduled. No reservations are accepted for patio dining - all outdoor seating is first come, first serve. Beneath a canopy of trees on the prettiest cobblestone street in Minneapolis, the Aster Cafe beckons with flickering candlelight and romantic charm. Overlooking both the Mississippi River and the Downtown Skyline, our European courtyard and bespoke dining room welcome you to savor fresh, inventive dishes (no deep fryers!) and custom cocktails, curated wines, and craft beers.
