Five-Course French Wine Paring
Join us at Corktown Taphouse for a curated five-course journey through the finest wine regions of France. On Tuesday, June 23rd, we're hosting an intimate, seated tasting that moves from bright and refreshing to bold and powerful — showcasing the extraordinary range of French winemaking through expertly matched food and wine pairings. The evening begins with a Jacques Dumont Sauvignon Blanc from the Val de Loire, paired with a Beet & Goat Cheese Salad — its vivid citrus and minerality cutting beautifully through the earthiness of the cheese. From there, we move into Burgundy with a Louis Jadot Pouilly-Fuissé, a buttery Chardonnay from 2024 served alongside Bucatini Alla Vodka with Grilled Shrimp and Peas — clean, classic, and deeply satisfying. The middle course brings a showstopper: Château d'Aqueria's Tavel Rosé 2024, one of the most powerful and food-friendly rosés in all of France, paired with Manchego and Hot Honey — salty, sweet, and bold in all the right ways. Next, a Château des Jacques Morgon 2023 (Cru Beaujolais) arrives alongside a Prosciutto & Fig Pizza, where the expressive Gamay grape finds its perfect match in salty cured meat, sweet fig, and fresh arugula. The evening closes with the crown jewel of the Rhône Valley — Château La Nerthe's Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge 2022 — paired with a Marinated 3 oz Filet Mignon. Silky, powerful tannins meet perfectly charred beef in what may be the most elite pairing of the night. Limited seating ensures an intimate, high-quality experience. Whether you're a devoted wine enthusiast or simply looking for a truly memorable night out in Detroit, this is one evening you won't want to miss.
