Estancia Brazilian Steakhouse Leander

This was a very interesting experience. We will certainly be back again. However, there were a few things that could have been better. I took my wife here for a special dinner. The restaurant ambiance is nice and upscale, but many of the patrons were dressed in clothing that ranged from nice dinner attire to families wearing Tshirts, shorts, flip flops and baseball caps. I would prefer a less casual dress code considering the prices here. If I’m dropping $350-$400 on dinner, I would prefer to NOT have a loud drunk woman in shorts and a tank top laughing and talking over everyone around her. Or the crying and screaming babies at the table next to the loud woman. This was unfortunately the case during our dinner. The service staff was extremely nice, but the noise level in the dining room was so intense I could barely hear the servers and felt bad I had to ask them to repeat so many times. Also, the wonderful you d ladies who were our servers had very soft voices that were drowned out by the background noise. The noise levels here were frankly very frustrating and left a negative feeling about the overall experience. The shining spot for Estancia is the food. Absolutely wonderful. The salad bar and hot sides were very good, the meats were off the charts good! The Prime Rib was my favorite. I wish I had received more. At one point we were asked if there was anything specific we would like more of. So I requested more Prime Rib. Unfortunately they never brought any. The curry pork chop tomahawks were amazing as well. We finished off with a piece of the key lime pie which was also very very good. Not too sweet, but subtle and rich. Really good. They were also repainting the planter box that was by the door as you entered, the paint smell was strong and filled the lobby and part of the dining room. I believe that is the sort of thing you do while the restaurant is closed. Overall I would give this restaurant a 7.5 out of 10. But specifically the food, I would give a 8.5-9. If they could find a way to tighten up the interior ambiance and do something about the noise levels this place would be a 5-star restaurant.
