Take Flight Tasting: North Italy in Two Perspectives with Rossello and Kornell Wines When: Thursday, October 8th Time: 6-8Pm Cost: $35 for all friends Tasting Type: Classroom For this special tasting, we’re bringing together two Italian producers with deep roots in Northern Italy: Rossello from Piedmont and Kornell from Alto Adige/Südtirol. Rossello has been making wine in Cortemilia, in the Alta Langa of Piedmont, since 1920. Now in its fourth generation, the family winery is deeply connected to the Langhe and its wine traditions, producing everything from Gavi and Roero Arneis to Barbera, Nebbiolo, Barolo, and Barbaresco. Their wines give us a taste of Piedmont’s distinctive landscape and centuries-old wine culture. Kornell, meanwhile, brings us into the heart of Alto Adige/Südtirol, where winegrowing has been part of the culture for roughly 2,500 years. The estate has more than 700 years of documented wine history, with vineyards shaped by mountain elevations, porphyry soils, abundant sunshine, and cool Alpine nights. Together, Rossello and Kornell give us two different perspectives on Northern Italian wine—from the rolling hills of Piedmont to the dramatic mountain vineyards of Alto Adige. And having representatives from both wineries with us makes this tasting particularly exciting. You’ll hear directly from the people behind the wines—their families, vineyards, winemaking philosophies, challenges, traditions, and the choices that make each bottle unique. 🍇 This is a classroom-style tasting featuring a curated selection of wines designed to showcase the range of the region and the different expressions that northern Italy can offer. Take Flight Tasting: Trick or Treat Wine and Candy Pairing When: Thursday. October 22nd Time: 6-8PM Cost: $29 per person, for all friends Tasting Type: classroom Who says candy is just for kids? This Halloween season, we’re putting a grown-up twist on one of our favorite fall traditions with a Take Flight Tasting that explores the surprisingly delicious relationship between wine and Halloween candy. 🍷🍫 Join us for a spooky and seriously fun evening featuring a variety of wines paired with some of your favorite Halloween treats. We’ll taste our way through different combinations, discovering which wines make certain candies shine, which pairings are unexpected, and which ones might just haunt your dreams—in the best possible way. 👻 Because pairing wine with candy isn’t as simple as “sweet + sweet = good.” We’ll explore how sugar, acidity, tannins, fruit, spice, texture, and intensity interact in the glass and on the palate. You may never look at your Halloween candy bowl quite the same way again. 🍬🍷 This is a classroom-style Take Flight experience, designed to be smaller, more intimate, and discussion-led. Rather than simply moving from wine to wine, we’ll slow down and dig into the why behind the pairings.
