About FKA: Formerly Known As
FKA is our love letter to the New York many of us grew up with—the city of the 70s, 80s & 90s, when people went out to meet each other rather than stare at an app, a neighborhood bar could feel like a second home, and a great night did not need to be overly complicated or overly expensive.
The name comes from a simple truth about NY: everything here was once something else. The city keeps changing, but the best places hold on to a little history, personality and soul. That is what we are trying to create at FKA, something nostalgic without feeling like a theme bar, polished without being precious, fun without taking itself too seriously.
Our high-low menu reflects that spirit: thoughtfully made cocktails, beers, oysters, burgers, hot dogs, Frito pies and nostalgic treats. Add vintage NYC photographs and memorabilia, arcade games, pinball, music and genuine old-school hospitality, and you get a place designed for people to settle in, stay awhile and have a real NYC night out.
