FEZ lays down the all vinyl soundtrack for your Friday, Sept. 4th hang here in our listening lounge starting at 7pm. Fez has curated a special crate of wax of Friday Night bangers to kick off the Labor Day holiday weekend!!! He’ll be behind the decks, with headphones on, diggin’ in the crates all evening long to keep the vibes right! We’re not just quite done yet… This “Friday Night Done Right” (Alla Spina style) offers up dinner, drinks and good times with family and friends alongside a visit from our pals New Trail Brewing Company who are bringing down a few tasty kegs celebrate the start of Penn State Nittany Lion Football!!! We’ll tap and feature 5 unique drafts from New Trail for you to sip on while talking all things New Trail beer with Guy McCarty (brewery rep.) who’ll be in house with some free swag while supplies last. Don’t worry, you can still keep track of the scores downstairs as well. We’ll have several different games on the screens so you can keep an eye on the action from around the various leagues in the sports world. ABOUT FEZ FEZ, aka Michael Fester, is a Chicago suburbs native, wax junkie, and owner of Fez Records in Bellefonte. ABOUT NEW TRAIL BREWING COMPANY New Trail was founded in January of 2018, with a focus on a balanced portfolio including Hazy IPA, Pilsner, Amber Ale, Belgian Styles, and Stout. New Trail’s mission has always been to highlight the expansive beauties of the Greater North Central Pennsylvania region while producing top-quality beers and distributing them to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE Needle Drop is at 7pm. Seating for this session will be available starting at 4pm. Featured New Trail Draft Selections: State Light, White Out, Fester, Broken Amplitude, and 24/7 Hazy IPA will be available when we open at 4pm. Jazz returns to Alla Spina at HiWay when we welcome back the Rich Hirsch 4 for another entertaining performance in our listening lounge on Saturday, November 7 at 7:00pm. Rick Hirsch and Bob Hart will be joined by pianist Clay Wulbrecht and special guest drummer Isaac Hillard. ABOUT RICK HIRSCH 4Rick Hirsch is an artistic leader in Central Pennsylvania, highly regarded regionally and nationwide as a saxophonist, composer, arranger, conductor and jazz educator. Hirsch has performed with dozens of legendary musicians including Tito Puente, Max Roach, Phil Woods, Clark Terry, Jeff Coffin, Louie Bellson, Paquito D’Rivera, both Dorsey bands, the Temptations and the Four Tops. He has written over 800 compositions and arrangements for Yusef Lateef, the Yellowjackets, Eddie Henderson, BlueNote vocalist Jackie Allen, the Penn State Blue Band (25 years of halftime shows and counting!) and countless others worldwide. Finally, Hirsch is a beloved saxophone teacher and the founding director of the Fraser Street Saxes, a State College-based ensemble for high school and middle school saxophonists. Bassist Bob Hart has toured and recorded with Kat Edmondson, Debbie Harry, Van Dyke Parks, and many others. On the local scene he’s a member of the Zeropoint Big Band, Pure Cane Sugar, and is musical director of Orchestra Mi Amor. Clay Wulbrecht is a pianist whose imagination and chops know no limits. He’s a jazz studies graduate of the prestigious Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, and has recorded and performed nationwide. Isaac Hillard is a 17-year-old jazz drumming phenom from Altoona, PA. He studies under with NYC drummer/bandleader Ulysses Owens, Jr. and Slippery Rock University professor Dr. David Glover. He ears, chops, and sensitivity well beyond his years. You’ll enjoy hearing him now, while you can!

Get your weekend on with us at Alla Spina with a live performance from the crazy fun duo Anchor&Arrow! ABOUT ANCHOR&ARROW Anchor&Arrow is the musical collaboration of husband and wife, Matt Dashem and Jennifer Henry-Dashem. Their unique sound is an upbeat mix of soul, funk, rock, and jazz: a culmination of many years of their individual musical styles and experience. The pair has been deemed Happy Valley’s FUNked-Up duo: A two person band with a whole lotta sound! Jenn’s moving voice fused with Matt’s seasoned guitar can be enjoyed by music lovers of all kinds, but especially those fond of having a good time. Jenn and Matt combine their decades of experience and styles into this wildly fun project. They never take themselves too seriously, while packing high energy and a banging good time into their live performances. The duo is known for putting their own twists on familiar tunes; blending styles and swapping genres with ease and originality. While they cover feel good music from the ‘70s to modern day songs that make you wanna move, their first love is creating their own music. Anchor&Arrow’s all-original EP, Jumble, can be streamed on Spotify and most other streaming platforms.
