Katsuo + Kombu

This evening was unusually warm for San Francisco at 73degrees when I was off of work so ten-zaru was perfect with cool noodles and crunchy light tempura. The light soy broth contrasted well with the spicy miso broth. Both had depth with all the additional flavorings such as shaved bonito flakes, sliced green onions, soy bean sprouts, grated ginger and daikon radish and one more grated ingredient I couldn’t identify. The perfectly fried tempura vegetables and shrimp were delightful with the mushrooms only being discovered after biting into a strange shape. Before I knew it, the ice cold noodles had disappeared into my full belly and it was time to go. So lucky I beat the evening rush again at 5:10pm.
