LOKANTA PLEASANTON

Our favorite place in Pleasanton. Although Skip the bartender wasn't on duty, the other bartender made great drinks and recommendations, especially the Mexcalita and Espresso Martini. Short ribs: tender, could use even more of that great wine and mushroom sauce, but so good! Salmon with brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes was also really good--girlfriend thought it was better than the one we had at Chez Panisse. I thought it at least a very close second. Recommend the Mousakka (regular with meat or the vegetarian), and the hummus (super creamy, order with lavash chips instead of the pita points). Kudos to the chef (s?), bartender, and wait staff. Food arrived promptly and hot. Drinks, served right away. Salads were good size, we had the Spring Mix and Greek salad. Both were tasty, and perfect for vegetarians. we Prices decent and good value for the money. Only negative was the group of women talking loudly, unaware of the effect they had on nearby diners. This was in the middle afternoon, so not many people in the back room where we were. Joe Bob says check it out.
