Turkish Wine
Bottle Kapadokya (Kocabag, Emir - Narince Kapadokya Dry White Wine) Similar to Pinot Grigio
Kocabag is a small local vineyard and winery in Uchisar, Cappadocia, which produces quite drinkable red and white wines from traditional Turkish grapes: Öküzgözü, Bogazkere, Kalecik Karasi, Narince and Emir. Founded in 1972, it sold its first wine in 1986, and by 1990 had 35 hectares in vines. Its Cappadocian tufa caves have a capacity today of 300,000 liters. Emir is a variety of white grape that is indigenous to the Cappadocia region of Turkiye. The cultivation of this crop is primarily concentrated in the provinces of Cappadocia and Nevsehir. Emir means "lord" in Turkish. It is also a good association with another Turkish grape, Narince (Similar to Pinot Grigio)$62.99Bottle Selection (Kavaklidere, Central Anatolia Narince - Emir Selection) Similar to Chardonnay
Kavaklidere Winery is the first private sector wine producer in Turkey. Since 1929, it has steadily developed to become Turkey's leading wine producer with 610 hectares of vineyards in the most important wine producing area of Anatolia. (Similar to Chardonnay)$72.00Bottle Kapadokya (Kocabag, Okuzgozu - Bogazkere Kapadokya Dry Red Wine) Similar to Merlot, Pinot Noir
Bogazkere is a grape variety and a Turkish wine originated from Diyarbakir Province near the Tigris river in the southeastern region of Turkey. it is a dark red rich grape and the wine is well structured with dried fruit and fig flavors. It's a dark-skinned wine grape variety indigenous to Turkey. It is mainly found in the central area of Anatolia Öküzgözü with its plum like dark skinned grapes and generous acidity complements Bogazkere with its intense tannins, fruit driven, spicy and tar-like aroma character. A rich wine, with sour cherries, blackberry through to a well balanced and softly structured palate. Unique wine making style in that some of it is aged in tuff "tanks" carved into the ground. Kocabag is the only one of the three commercial wineries in Capadoccia to use tanks, and they may easily be the only winery in the world to do so. (Similar to Merlot, Pinot Noir)$62.99Bottle Selection (Kavaklidere, Eastern Anatolia Okuzgozu - Bogazkere Selection) Similar to Cabernet
Selection Red, which combines the aroma and elegance of Öküzgözü, one of the most elegant grapes of Anatolia, with the strong and bodied structure of the Bosphorus, is a unique cup in the Eastern Anatolia Region. The Selection series, which started production in 1987 in honor of the 60th anniversary of Kavaklıdere Wines, is the rising value of Anatolian wine production. Grape selected carefully from Elazığ and Diyarbakır have applied the most appropriate production technique to their characters. Full-bodied, complex, strong and mature tannins and a bottle of aged potency for many years in the bottle. Similar to Cabernet$72.00
