Come explore another mega dungeon from the early years of D&D, but in an updated format, with a novel rules set and magic system designed by one of our owners and resident GMs, Matt. Dark Tower is another early (1980) module written by Jennell Jaquays, author of Caverns of Thracia. It includes a large, multilevel complex with areas of three dimensional overlap and connection which allows for branching, non-linear exploration. Matt will be using his own table top role playing rules for these sessions. He will draw some elements from Dungeons and Dragons, but also include an entirely self-designed system for magical effects and spells, a highly flexible non-class based character creation and development system, and the modified armor system. The goal of these sessions, unlikeThracia, is to have a smaller consistent group of players for a continuous, evolving play experience. There will be a limit of 6 spots per session

November: Wondrous Creatures! Ready to learn something new? On the Second Wednesday of the month, CJ features a fresh board game and walks the table through setup, rules, and a short demo—then you’re off and playing with coaching as you go. Each session will be spent learning games that are more complicated in nature and often have a higher barrier of entry. The goal is to lower that barrier to allow more people access to these games in an interactive and easy to understand way without requiring players to pour through rulebooks, forums, or videos to simply get to a point where they can play Come alone or with friends; we’ll seat you with a welcoming group. You’ll get: Clear, friendly rules explanation First-game guidance and strategy nudges A complete playthrough (time-permitting) A rotating lineup of modern classics and indie gems.

✨ D&D-Curious? Never held a sword? Never cast a spell? Perfect. Join us for a beginner-friendly mini-campaign of the latest edition of Dungeons & Dragons—no experience needed, no pressure, and definitely no shortage of snacks. Your guide for the adventure will be OBR team member and Dungeon Master Drew, who’ll give you the knowledge and tools you need to create your own hero and set out on a 3-week adventure! ⛏️🐉 This is a 3-session adventure, but each week is drop-in friendly! Players who join us for the first session will have the opportunity to create a custom character to bring with them throughout the adventure. Joining us later? No problem! Drew will have pre-generated characters ready for new adventurers to jump right in. To make sure everyone has a great experience, each session requires at least 4 players to run.
