We’ll cover the tiles, how to read the card, the Charleston and basic flow of gameplay. We’ll break everything down step-by-step with plenty of guidance and time to ask questions. Perfect for beginners or anyone wanting a fresh clear introduction to Mahjong. Your ticket includes light refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages. Come with friends or join in solo for our social Open Play session! Open Play includes: • Reserved seating at beautifully set tables with mats, tiles, accessories - just bring your good vibes and NMJL card. No card? No problem! There are some on hand to borrow. • Light refreshments including snacks, sparkling water, coffee and tea. • An intimate, welcoming atmosphere dedicated to Mahjong and community-building • The opportunity to meet fellow Mahjong enthusiasts! Please note, Open Play is not instructional. Players should have a basic understanding of NMJL Mahjong prior to attending. We’ll do our best to match similarly skilled players. Mahjong is a game with four players and each reservation is an individual seat. However, there may be times we have a table of one, two or three players. Ready for more Mahj? Mahjong 102 is designed for players who have completed Mahjong 101 and want additional instructor guidance. A Mahjong 101 class is required before taking Mahjong 102. In this class, we’ll slow things down and build your confidence. You can expect to practice reading the card, the Charleston, and making decisions during the game. This class is the bridge between learning and truly understanding the game. Your ticket includes light refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages. Cancellations are non-refundable within 48 hours of the class. $75 per person
