Always great service
I know this is a sandwich shop, but it’s also a place to get fresh sourdough to make the ultimate garlic bread or French Dip sandwiches at home. I get the whole par baked baguettes or the 4” side of bread (I ask them not to slice it) if I’m only cooking for 1. They are much bigger in circumference than those skinny baguettes that are all crust at the grocery store. It’s almost as wide as a typical French bread loaf and about 18” long if memory serves me right. The bread gets a really crispy outside with a tender middle and holds up to dipping in Au Jus without getting soggy and disintegrating. Ever since Columbo Bread went out of business, I haven’t been able find good sourdough. I grew up on Columbo’s par baked sourdough that my mom always bought and baked for pasta nights, so when I saw that they sold a par baked sourdough I had to try it. West Coast Sourdough is the closest/best alternative I’ve found so far, but it’s still not as sour as Columbo. Regardless, it’s really good bread that I will continue to purchase.
