As the creators of the first-ever bourbon barrel-aged stout, we have long sought to push the boundaries of what is possible in the world of beer. That’s why, when crafting this year’s 2024 Bourbon County Brand Cask Finish Stout, we were thrilled to work with our friends at Bardstown Bourbon Company. Drawing inspiration from Bardstown’s modern and creative spirit in finished whiskeys, this imperial stout takes the same journey as their Origin Series Rye. We began by aging our imperial stout in Bardstown’s freshly emptied straight rye whiskey barrels. From there, we transferred the beer to “hybrid” oak and cherry wood barrels that finished their rye whiskey. These incredibly expressive barrels deliver a remarkable finish unlike anything seen before in the Bourbon County family. A beautifully balanced beer, Bourbon County Bardstown Cask Finish Stout is deeply expressive with vibrant cherry, toasted oak and a lingering herbal finish.

Post fermentation we rested Ol' Pile on the whole coffee beans giving it tons of flavor and coffee aromatics without changing the light color to the beer. The result is an incredible, fresh, crushable version our classic Ol' Pile. Enjoy!!

Czech Style Dark Lager

This year, we decided to put the Weizen (wheat) into the Wiesn (what the Munich locals call the place where the Oktoberfest tents are pitched), and make a party wheat for the festive season. Darker in color than our Hefeweizen, this robust wheat features notes of caramel and banana bread crust, and is complemented by aromas and flavors of clove spice, dates and banana flambé. A snuggly Hefe to take us into the fall, it’s kind of our interpretation of a PSL.

Farmhouse Ale aged in Tom Cat Gin Barrels – 6.5% ABV Our classic Farmhouse Vultures takes flight in a whole new direction after resting in freshly emptied Tom Cat gin barrels. A beautiful balance of botanical notes of juniper, citrus peel, and spice match perfectly with the bright character of the Saison yeast. All finishing with a delicate oak presence and dry finish. Complex yet refreshingly drinkable, this Farmhouse Vultures is a classic for us that we haven't had in production since 2015.

We got back together with our friends from the Plainfield Park District and brewed a beer to celebrate the hard work they have been putting in at Van Horn Woods. A portion of the proceeds of the sale of this beer will be donated to the Park District to go back into the disc golf course at Van Horn. If you haven't had a chance to play the course, what are you waiting for?!? Brewed with German pilsner, flaked wheat, red wheat and lightly hopped with Magnum and Saphir. Delicate and balanced to perfection. Soft notes of fresh banana bread with a light clove finish. Grab a 4 pack and get out an throw a round at the course!

Phase Three P3 Helles Lager is a smooth and refreshing beer with a well-balanced malt profile. It's an easy-drinking lager, perfect for a laid-back afternoon or pairing with your favorite meal.

The Dunkel style is what many refer to as the original beer of Munich and the surrounding countryside and villages (Dorf in German) of Bavaria. This everyday beer ranges in color from amber to dark brown, depending on the amount of Munich and roasted malts used. Ours is a deep reddish brown with a rich malty flavor. The sweetness of the malt is balanced by the use of another Bavarian friend…the Hallertau hop…in this specific case Hersbrucker grown near Wolnzach, Hallertau.

The unmistakable characteristics of this German wheat beer are achieved with a yeast strain that is decidedly fruity and phenolic. You may note clove, nutmeg, vanilla, and banana-like aromas and flavors.

Stiegl-Goldbräu and sweet fruity raspberry soda join together to refresh with an enchantingly red, soft berrylike treat. The raspberry flavor gives the retro-Radler a rich scented bouquet of fully ripe berries. The fruity and juicy overall impression provides thirst-quenching refreshment.

A Winter Lager that stands up to the frigid temps that come with the season. Full-bodied and malty with a pronounced nuttiness and slight caramel sweetness, plus a hint of noble hop spiciness to keep it easy on the palate. Cozy up.

We collaborated with our friends over at Iron&Glass to brew a beer to be shared and celebrated by all. It has been awesome to watch our families at Werk Force and @ironglasstaproom grow over the past years as our businesses have blossomed. This year we selected from I&G Maggie and Eric’s son Everett’s personal art for the label – truly a work of art! Lager&Friends is a lightly hopped smasher of a beer with a touch of Lotus and Nelson Sauvin hops. Make sure to check out the “celebrated release” of this beer on July 15th at LAGER FEST being held at Iron&Glass Romeoville. We will all be simultaneously releasing it Friday at the two Iron&Glass locations as well as at our Werk Force taproom. Stock up on this backyard barbecue must have!

Our Holiday Red Ale is steeped with ginger root and orange peel, resulting in a beer with aromas of fresh baked bread, caramel, and stone fruits. Fistmas was brewed with specialty malts to achieve a beautiful deep red hue.

We miss our favorite pink beer, "Summerly," in the Winter, so we decided to brew a winterized wheat beer to take its place. "Dreamsicle Flurries" is a wheat beer with loads of orange juice and vanilla bean added. It tastes so good we forgot how much Winter sucks for a few minutes!

What glorious alchemy resides in the space between the beloved Czech Pilsener and the beguiling Czech Dark Lager? Well it's the Polotmavy Lezak, or "Half-Dark Lager" of course! Recordance is our first attempt at the style, and joins Concordance (Czech-Style Pilsener) and Accordance (our Czech-Dark Lager) to complete our Bohemian triumvirate.

For this Winter Hopfenlager, we wanted to, well, celebrate this classic, by adding a little caramel malt in the grain bill, and selecting what has become to define West Coast IPA: The ‘C’ hops of Chinook, Cascade, and Centennial. This hoppy lager is double-decocted, with hop additions at flameout and in the coolship for increased aromatics. Open fermentation and horizontal maturation aid in a smooth drinking experience to enjoy round after round at your holiday table.

A winter-warmer, BuckleDown style. This brew starts with a strong, 6% brown ale base with notes of toffee and roasted nuts. We build on this profile with generous additions of cacao nibs, vanilla, cinnamon and coffee. This brew is rich and complex; perfect for a cool winter night.

Really Decent Citra - Dry Hopped Light Lager A new take on an old favorite. We took our award-winning Really Decent lager and gave it a juicy twist with a hit of Citra hops. Bright citrus aroma, crisp finish, and that ultra-drinkable Werk Force balance you know and love. Light enough for an easy pint, flavorful enough to keep you coming back. A little new, a little nostalgic — all really decent.

A beautifully balanced tribute to classic British pub ales, our ESB pours a deep copper hue with a soft, off-white head. Brewed with a blend of rich Maris Otter and crystal malts, it delivers warm layers of toasted biscuit, toffee, and a gentle caramel sweetness. Lightly hopped with Magnum and East Kent Goldings provide a restrained, earthy bitterness and subtle floral spice. Motueka, Nelson Sauvin & Riwaka-Hopped New Zealand Style Pilsner

The Munich monks invented the Doppelbock to sustain them during lengthy fasts, particularly during lent. This beer has a nice rich malty sweetness, deep flavors of molasses, caramel, and dark fruit finish with an earthy mineral quality. Often referred to as “liquid bread.” We brewed ours in honor of the legend of the Wawel Castle in Krakow, Poland.

Don’t let the dark color fool you, our traditional German-style Schwarzbier is deceivingly light, with a subtle malt and roast presence. To us, we’d gladly drink this beer year round, but there is something about the warmth in the roasty chocolate flavors that pairs perfectly with snowy weather.

Brewed with toasty malts and a splash of roasted barley for that rich red color and depth of flavor. Malty, but not caramely or overly sweet. Balanced and meant for drinkin’!

A hopped-up amber ale that conjures the classics of the '90s brewpub boom. Hopped thoroughly with tried-and-true varieties that dominated the era, bringing notes of pine sap, grapefruit, fresh grass and resin. This one's for the old heads.

Zumo-Hopped Mexican Style Lager

A traditional, high fermented Bavarian yeast beer specialty with an accentuated wheat beer flavour and high vitamin B contents. Natural yeast cloudiness due to top fermentation. A sparkling refreshing and thirstquenching product!

What makes a Midwest Lager? In this case, it's a Dortmunder-style lager made with all Midwestern ingredients! Malt from Indiana, Michigan-grown hops, and yeast cultivated in nearby Chicago make this collaboration with our buds at Bubblehouse Brewing in Lisle a regional journey you'll want to embark on.

Raised in the trenches of the American-Irish homeland, Flynn Flanagan, the rambunctious Irish fighter, fought through the skids and chuckleheads of South Boston. Southie bitch slap, is his tribute, a hallmark of struggle and grime. Brewed with heavy loads of Summit hops and Caramel 80L that produce a smooth and malty body with a gorgeous red hue, this crushable beer is perfect for the feisty American-Irishman.

Roast. Coffee. Smoke. Pine. And black as night. It's appropriate that we're releasing this beer on the day of the winter solstice. We used a large dose of custom roasted Riggs-grown malted wheat to showcase a fresh roast character that commercially sourced grains simply can't deliver. For all of its upfront complexity, our use of Riggs-grown Corn and German Lager Yeast does its usual trick; this beer is dangerously drinkable. Our Black IPL is a perfect example of the seasonality of beer.

Traditionally brewed using soft Plzn water, 100% Czech Saaz hops, and triple decocted. This beer exemplifies Czech brewing techniques and ingredients. Beginning with sweet organic honey on the nose, followed by a deep and complex malt flavor that is balanced out by a spicy and herbal hop character. A firm bitterness throughout helps balance the sweetness from the malt and dry the mouth leaving it beckoning for another sip.

I like to picture my IPA with a tuxedo t-shirt on; 'cuz it says "I wanna be formal, but I came to party." & just like the real thing, this foggy IPA is tailor custom fitted with our hand-selected Mosaic & Krush ...& is the perfect fit for any occasion.

Had to catch a cab back to the lab with our buds at Equilibrium Brewery from Middleton in the Hudson Valley of New York. We did some mind melding to intertwine our respective approaches to hop processes & brewing larger IPAs and this is where we landed. Extremely oil rich additions of Citra & Idaho 7 Cryo in the whirpool & multiple additions/forms of Strata, Mosaic & Australian Galaxy. Per our initial hypothesis, this shit turned out fire.

Hazy Double IPA and collaboration with Hop District Community Brewing in La Grange Park, Illinois! Brewed with an experimental non-GMO thiolized yeast strain from Lallemand Brewing and double dry hopped with Citra, Eclipse, Galaxy, Nectaron, Nelson Sauvin, and Riwaka hops. That's a mouthful, and you'll want each gulp as well. 8.2% ABV.

Tasting Notes: Orange Creamsicle - Pineapple - Peach Cobbler Cherise is a lovable juice bomb with a super pillowy mouthfeel! This beer overflows with notes of fresh baked peach cobbler and tropical fruit. The first sip brings back childhood memories of the first bite of a cold orange creamsicle on the hottest of summer days. Enjoy!

This Saturday, we’re excited to welcome Mortalis and Tin Barn to the taproom. We are releasing two beers for the occasion and pouring guest drafts from our friends. To help mark the event, we mashed up elements of Barn Science and Queen Athena Dreamscape to bring you Barn Science Dreamscape. A creamy base makes way for loads of Citra, Citra Lupomax, Krush, Eclipse, and Nectaron.An explosive mango and passionfruit nose leads into a saturated tropical medley of guava, nectarine, and papaya, layered with bright tangerine, grapefruit pith, and a pop of stone fruit. Each sip is plush and pillowy, with a soft, smooth bitterness and an escalating brightness from our EQ Juice finish creating a true dreamscape of flavor.

We took our Fluctuation base, added lots of oats and wheat, and combined it with a Citra whirlpool and a dry hop of Citra, Strata, and BRU-1. With its citrus and floral aroma, we get flavors of tropical orange, papaya, rich saturated pineapple, and bright berries in a creamy EQjuice finish with just a touch of bite that will keep your brain BPS (bits per second) flowing freely with each sip!

Starting off with a base of white wheat and flaked oats, we used our 100% hand selected Victorian Galaxy in both the whirlpool and dry hop for the hop bill. Pouring a deep hazy yellow, saturated aromas and flavors of Florida navel orange, passionfruit, lychee, and grapefruit build into a dank #EQjuice forward finish with a balanced creaminess and a touch of hop bitterness. It seems like it took us lightyears to make our first All Galaxy DIPA, but we think it was worth the wait!

MC² is Photon’s big brother. We literally took Photon’s hopping rate and squared it. This DIPA is our tribute to the amazing relationship that energy and mass are balanced, proportional to the speed of a photon squared. It pours a hazy tangerine color, releasing bright tropical notes of mango, pineapple, and apricot. MC² tastes like succulent mango juice loaded with chewy hop resins. It’s very drinkable for 8.0%; be careful, this one can sneak up on you.

Seven was hopped intensely with Krush, Motueka, Galaxy, and Citra. Notes of mango, peach, and bright citrus up front, layered with deeper tropical notes and a sharp green edge that keeps it balanced and sturdy. Tasting Notes: Stone Fruit – Dank – Candied Citrus We loaded this hybrid northern and southern hemisphere IPA up with Cryo Simcoe, Nelson Sauvin, Motueka and Nectaron giving it huge notes of grilled summer peaches, pine forests and sugary candied citrus rinds. Delicious in all ways possible. In regards to the name, we are going to thoroughly enjoy listing to people try to pronounce this beer. To be fair, we're not even sure how to pronounce it. But it tastes awesome.

Brewed with an abundance of Citra hops, we also blend in Warrior, Columbus, and Simcoe in the kettle for good measure. Citraholic is double dry hopped for two weeks with an abundance of Citra (and a touch of Columbus) imparting heavy aromas of citrus & tropical fruits with melon and gooseberry nuances. A base of American 2-row malt and scatterings of light British caramel malt create the perfect foundation for this unique and powerfully pungent IPA.
