It all started when avid gum chewer and our founder, Ryan, was chewing a pack of gum and started to wonder what chewing gum was actually made of. He quickly found out that he had no idea what was in this product he had been chewing on for most of his life. After doing some research, he was astonished to find out that conventional gum brands use “gum base,” which is comprised of artificial ingredients like synthetic plastic as well as artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, and preservatives. This led to him seeking better alternatives, but there were none that met his standards. From this realization came a desire to create a better alternative that only used the highest quality ingredients. For the next few months, Ryan did countless trials in his home kitchen, and soon after that Refresh Gum was finally born.
