The wine is part of the importer’s Gulp/Halbo line of Spanish wines made of organic and biodynamic grapes from Spain’s central La Mancha region.

Fun and fancy free - Le Babbler is meant to inspire one to babble on and on about anything that brings joy. The wine comes from Château Lauduc, owned by the Grandeau family for four generations. The vineyards and winery are just ten kilometers from downtown Bordeaux in the Entre-Deux-Mers region. The winery is certified sustainable by HVE and after successful trials in 2018, they began the organic certification process in 2019. Only organic products are used for vineyard management. The vines average 35 years-old and are grown in limestone clay, siliceous, and gravel soils that give the wine a lot of freshness and balance. Once harvested at their best maturity, the vinification is handled in the modern cellar with thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks used to extract soft tannins and deep color, respecting the fruits’ true expression. In the bottle, you’ll find poetry, art, and inspired conversation.

About ‘Nù Litr’ represents the next chapter for Valentina Passalacqua. “I like to think that wine can be a natural ferment of change and emotions,” Valentina writes. “It is much more than just a drink. It is the story of a soul, without makeup, simple and full of life!” The goal as with all of her wines is to showcase place through fresh, low ABV, drinkable wines using Puglia’s flagship varieties. This rosso is made from a blend of Nero di Troia, Negroamaro, and Montepulciano grown on certified organic, 20-year-old estate vines on calcareous soils. The grapes were hand harvested and brought back to the cellar for spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks. After 7-8 days, the wine was pressed off the skins and was sent to cement Tulipes for 4-5 months of aging. It was then blended and bottled with just a hit of sulfur and a coarse filtration. No fining.

If you love wines of tension that exhibit purity and finesse, you will find Zestos old Vine Garnacha to be your new love. Zestos shows the complexity of a wine three times its price. In the words of Robert M. Parker Jr., Zestos is “a staggering value” and “an unbelievable wine for the price”. Zestos old vine is produced from Garnacha vines that were planted as far back as 1950 in the high elevation vineyards of San Martin Valdeiglesias, which is northwest of Madrid. Today San Martin produces some of the most floral and mineral-driven Garnachas in all of Spain. The older the vines, the better the wine. Old vines do not over produce. As a result, the vines yield fully ripened grapes.

The principal ingredient is assenzio, a variety of wormwood. Best enjoyed with citrus and tonic or soda.
