Welcome Home You see that written on a door mat or maybe it’s said with a tight hug and loving embrace when you walk back in the door from being gone for a while. For me, it is coming back to my Roots– my hometown, my alma mater university and to my original restaurant I opened as a 22-year-old in 1996. I’ve come back home and now I’m welcoming you into my 2nd home, a 2nd time. The Roots of the thinly pressed, smashed burger is said to come from Indiana. Therefore, we felt combining the double meaning of Roots for this Burger Bar worked perfectly for what we wanted to bring home. The interesting fact about Roots are that they rarely can do anything great on their own - they need nurturing, watering and love from the community helping that tree grow.
