The name "Strev" refers to the hills where the Moscato grapes are cultivated. The Moscato grapes grown here are known for their exceptional ripeness due to the warm microclimate and steep hillsides. The juice obtained from the pressing of the grapes is maintained at low temperatures until the time of refermentation which takes place in pressurized tanks. Once the alcohol reaches 5.5, fermentation is halted and the wine is bottled with its natural vivacity.

100% Pinot Noir. Blanc de Blanc This rosé showcases some fruit from the village of Ambonnay in addition to Bouzy. Strawberry and yeast with that forward red fruit immediately present. The palate is very balanced and keeps the exuberance of the nose in check with moderate acidity and an excellent seam of cream. The fruit and presence of this wine seems to call for duck with raspberries.

Intense hue with colored highlights. Our Grand Cru Brut Rosé displays the characteristic elegant style of Gatinois Champagnes. The nose and palate offer up a subtle bouquet of red fruit (strawberries, blackberries, cherries) and a dash of spice which evolves into lingering notes of morello cherries on the rich finish.

This cuvée is a blend of two different years revealing the special quality of the Chardonnay. Its complexity, its great vinosity and the surprisingly fresh finish is particularly appreciated by the most informed wine lovers.

51% Pinot Noir, 49% Chardonnay). At first, the nose comes across soft and toasty, less on the gunpowder but more on the toasted bread side. A little shy perhaps, but the bouquet is impeccably pure and deliciously fruity once it reveals more of itself after a short while in the glass. There is ripe yellow plum fruit but also a brisk menthol breeze as well as some sweeter, even tropical aromas. All nuances are perfectly integrated and elegantly subtle for the time being, echoing a reservedness speaking of longevity. On the soft cushiony palate, the linearity and vivacity are first to be noted, but soon after one gets charmed by the creamy-caressing texture. The dosage is perfectly balanced at 5g/l. Much racier and perhaps a little more austere than most recent Dom Pérignon vintages, however, this coolly fruity, tight and focused wines has what true longevity takes. It has evolved slowly until now and will be one to defy time.

Frenzy Sauvignon Blanc is intensely aromatic and lively with flavors of peach, grapefruit, lime, melon and cut grass. This is a crisp, refreshing, vibrant and aromatic example of Marlborough's best Sauvignon Blanc that can be enjoyed as an aperitif, or match with seafood.

The wine opens with tropical aromas of lychee, lemon blossom, lemongrass, and lime leaf on the nose, with nice crisp acidity, great zip, and grassy grapefruit flavors on the palate. It is medium-bodied for a Sauvignon Blanc, with a thought-provoking nuance, yet is easy-drinking at the same time. The mouth-feel is juicy and the finish is long and mouth-watering.

Vibrant aromas of grapefruit, white peach and passionfruit with hints of tropical stone fruits. Mouth-watering acidity and minerality lead to a refreshing finish.

Stone fruit and lime zest on the nose lead into fresh boxwood and a wet stone minerality. Fermented in concrete and stainless steel.

Grown on the lower terrace at Te Muna Road, this wine shows a unique level of texture and complexity. The cooler climate of Martinborough ensures the wine is aromatic with steely minerality while the rocky soils gives intensity of the fruit.

Citrus and lemon aromas with slight notes of fresh grass. The mouth is balanced and structured. To be drunk young to preserve its freshness. Saint Bris is the only appellation in Burgundy permitted to grow Sauvignon Blanc.

This special cuvée made by Jean Mounard and Marc Vappereau is a pure Sancerre with incredible freshness and minerality. It stands in contrast to some productions which tend toward richer, heavier wines often with residual sugar. It has a good depth, lovely, citrus fruit, and a classic flintiness on the nose and palate.

The Ojai Vineyard, owned by Adam & Helen Tolmach, works closely with a dozen different vineyards on the Central Coast of California and produces wines from syrah, grenache, mourvedre, pinot noir, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc and viognier. About 6000 cases are produced each year, divided between 15 bottlings, most of which are vineyard designated wines.

"The 2022 Sauvignon Blanc contains 60% estate fruit this year and 42% of the blend comes from Sauvignon Musqué. Barrel fermented and aged in 18% new oak with twice-weekly lees stirring, it has a gregarious nose with gooseberry, tart kiwi, tarragon, cut grass, white peaches and elderflower plus touches of lime and stone. Light to medium-bodied, it offers great flavor intensity with bright, zippy acidity and a long, lightly textured finish."

"Pur Sang" is French for "thoroughbred" and is a joke that reflects Dagueneau’s annoyance at repeated references to the fact (by journalists) that he uses a horse to till some of his vineyards. This wine is produced primarily from a vineyard north of Saint Andelain called La Folie. The soil here is deep clay with some limestone. The vineyard is gently sloped and has perfect south/southeast exposure. Some smaller parcels on the Saint Andelain Hill occasionally also make it into this Cuvée. Barrel fermented and aged. This is always a rich and powerful Cuvée, enormously textural and complex. It is a wine that can live and live.

Vineyard Origins wines are produced from smaller-yielding vineyards in Lake County, Monterey, Mendocino, Lodi and the cooler areas of Northern Central Valley. The Lot 15 Chardonnay is fermented in stainless steel and partially neutral oak barrel aged. Crisp and clean with pleasant citrus and tropical fruit flavors and aromas. Perfect version of the everyday Chardonnay!

The 2022 Riverstone exhibits enticing aromas of ripe citrus, white nectarine, and baking spices. The rich texture and balanced acidity on the palate from barrel aging sur lie offers flavors of ripe Meyer lemon, citrus cream, hazelnut, cocoa, and a hint of oak on the long finish.

The aroma is complex with layers of mineral, citrus, white flowers, and spice. On the palate the wine is balanced, vibrant, and round with a clean finish. The natural acidity of the region is rounded by labor-intensive barrel fermentation and aging, and a spontaneous Malolactic fermentation. Avni 2022 has nuances of lemon peel, green apple, river stone, and a softer edge of pear and quince in the background.

A ripe and ever-so-mildly exotic nose is comprised by notes of citrus, ginger, mineral reduction and yellow orchard fruit that are set off by a subtle application of oak with intense flavors that display good minerality.

Oregon has the potential to produce world-class Chardonnay, and this is a fantastic example. Barrel fermented in French oak, mostly used but some new. Fermented with whatever yeast blows in the door, minimal sulphur added letting the wine show its elegant, zippy finesse. There’s great depth of flavor and balance between the creamy palate, aromas of peach, apricot, white pepper, and white flowers, fresh acidity, and a mouthwatering yeasty crispness.

Hailing from ‘La Combe Verte,’ otherwise known as “Green Valley,” this is rich and round, yet maintains a striking acidity. Dense and delicious, the wine shows notes of lemon skin, coarse salt, and stone fruit.

Begninning in 2018, Bob makes a 100% Chardonnay from Napa Valley fruit. White peach, star jasmine and gardenia aromas mingle with a trace of vanilla. Bright fresh flavors evolve on the mid-palate and vibrantly burst in a delicious framework of fresh natural acidity. This wine is crafted in a vibrant, energetic style that avoids the heavy hands of malolactic fermentation and excessive oak.

A unique combination of barrel fermentation followed by extended “sur lie” aging in concrete vats. Balance and restraint in a varietal not always associated with these traits.

Dehlinger’s Chardonnays are crafted using traditional techniques which preserve the flavor and elegance of the variety. At harvest, the grapes are picked at night, brought cold into the winery and “whole cluster pressed” to extract the highest quality juice. From there, the juice is fermented in French oak barrels using native yeasts. The wine gains further complexity through malolactic fermentation and a year of aging on the lees. Dehlinger has been bottling its Chardonnays “Unfiltered” since the late 1990s in order to capture the full flavor potential and most pleasing texture possible.

The leaner and more Chablisiane reminiscent of two main Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay bottlings, White Hill highlights the unique salinity that comes through in the ancient soils of Sta. Rita Hills. Floral and fragrant, fresh tangerine, beeswax, jasmine. Up front minerality follow by a slightly creamier mid-palate with hints of baked lemon curd.

The juice was pumped into the tank to cold-settle overnight before it was racked to a barrel for primary and malolactic fermentation. Bright, forward aromas of ripe pineapple, guava, and hints of citrus fruits are complemented by subtle notes of orange blossom and sweet toasty vanilla. The 2021 Chardonnay is a combination of ideal fruit quality from this special site, a slow non-inoculated fermentation and prolonged malolactic fermentation with heavy lees contact. The result has yielded a complete wine that will age well for 5-7 years.

The grapes for Belle Côte are grown at 1,700 to 1,800 feet above sea level. The high elevation, in combination with a more sheltered site, create conditions for a long and slow ripening. Joel Gott 815 Cabernet Sauvignon Red Wine contains fruit sourced from varied regions across California to create an elegant and well-balanced wine. This dry red wine showcases aromas of blackberry and plum. The wine opens with dark, concentrated fruit flavors, followed by velvety tannins on the mid-palate and notes of vanilla on the long, textured finish. This Cabernet Sauvignon wine earned 90 points from James Suckling in December 2023.

The 2021 Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is deep ruby in the glass with purple hues. The rich bouquet of spiced black plum and cocoa nib are balanced with aromas of fresh earth and crushed flint. Intense and opulent flavors of ripe blackberry, cedar, mocha, and black currant coat the broad and balanced palate and the ripe tannin creates a perfect frame for the lush fruit expression. Cherry cordial and cola linger on the long, quenching finish.

Steel aged and bottled early, which preserves freshness, aromatics, and delicious fruit-forwardness. Notes of jammy berries and cassis are marked by earthy, well-integrated tannins and a long finish. A steal for the price!

Juicy and lively red currant, blood orange and dried sage show on the nose. The palate is fresh raspberry, strawberry, orange zest, black cherry and allspice. A dry finish weaves in espresso, mocha and more lifted fruit. Pair with drunken noodles.

A velvety smooth, complex blend of our finest grapes. With excellent structure and balance, this wine will drink well now and benefit from aging. 50% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Petit Verdot. Aged 21 months in French oak.

2022 Sexy Beast Cabernet Sauvignon is concentrated purple with a red hue in the glass. Showcasing aromas of clove, asian spice, lavender, cola, roasted meats and black current.

This is an alluring Cabernet, with gorgeous aromas of black cherry, currant and licorice, as well as more savory notes of black tea and olive. While the palate is luscious and ripe, thanks to thoughtful picking decisions, there is a lovely note of freshness to this wine that adds definition to the sweet berry and violet flavors, carrying the wine to a long, bright finish.

2019 had a cool Spring and mild summer which resulted in slow ripening until a heat spike around Labor Day accelerated ripening. Immediately after, the weather returned to mild temperatures again, allowing the grapevines to recover. Individual blocks at Jack London vineyard were picked at the peak of ripeness between September 25th and October 2nd. After an average of 16 days of fermentation on the skins, the lots were then individually pressed off and settled before being transferred into barrels for 30 months of aging.

This wine begins with a blueberry note on the nose, quickly followed by black cherries and plums. Hints of black pepper and licorice complement the fruit flavors. Caramel and vanilla combine for a smooth palate and the mellow tannins and acidity add a lingering finish.

The 2019 Claret rested on its lees twelve months in French & American oak barrels, only 24% new, with monthly bâtonnage to coat the tannins, producing a luscious, cushioned mouthfeel. This wine was lightly fined with egg whites and bottled without filtration in February 2019.

On the nose, the bouquet reveals complex aromas of ripe fruits with vanilla and toasted accents. On the palate, the wine is elegant,supple and fleshy with a fruity and persistant finish.

The harvest of the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes at our Rossi and Chavez-Leeds vineyards began at the end of September. 2020 was a long, cool vintage with no heat spikes. It was a gentle and even-paced harvest which was heartily welcomed after the challenges of the fires in the prior year. This 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon shows aromas of blackcurrant fruit, an underlying hint of earth and a dusty character that is classic to Rutherford Cabernet. The palate invites one in offering bright acidity and well-integrated tannins that make this wine approachable in its youth. Its character also hints at beautiful aging potential.

Located on the left bank of Bordeaux, the magnificent Grand Cru Classe of Haut-Medoc – Chateau Cantemerle – testifies to a rich wine history with origins dating back to the 12th century. The grand vin of the estate, the Chateau Cantemerle 2018 is made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (67%), Merlot (20%), Cabernet Franc (7%) and Petit Verdot (6%). The wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels (40% new wood). With its unique style that blends charm, voluptuousness and elegance, the Chateau Cantemerle 2018 will seduce wine lovers by offering the pure experience of a great red wine of Haut-Medoc in an exceptional vintage for Bordeaux.

The wine leads with pencil shavings and cola aromas. On the palate, cherry, sweet vanilla cream and strawberry share the bill, alongside dusty tannins and a lasting finish that reminds of toasted nuts.

This young wine has a fairly expressive nose with plenty of fruit aromas, accompanied by the typical aromas for the varietal. Direct, without being very full-bodied, the palate extends into a balanced, rounded finish, without any heaviness. 4th Growth

"The 2016 Gloria is comprised of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot aged 14 months in 42% new and 58% one-year-old French oak. Deep garnet-purple in color, it sings of plum preserves, warm cassis and dark chocolate with touches of tobacco, bay leaves and lavender with a waft of dusty soil. The palate is medium-bodied, elegant and savory in the mouth with loads of layers and a lifted finish."

The valley floor delivers an approachable style, filled with red, black and blue fruits this Cabernet is showy and soft in its tannin delivery. Our vineyard is small, spanning less than a hectare, we utilize a gardener rather than a vineyard management company. The vines are spoiled with 80’s music, and perfect pruning. The wines show this care. Located just south of Yountville, this is a private little spot.

The 2020 ARTEMIS Cabernet Sauvignon delivers expressive aromas of mocha, chocolate covered cherry, crushed raspberry, olive and thyme. Rich and flavorful, the wine is well-structured with fine grained tannins. The palate has a pleasing brambleberry note that leads to a long finish with a hint of oak spice.

This wine has a signature style that is dark in color, with rich fruit and ripe, velvety tannins – as approachable in youth as in maturity. Caymus farms Cabernet grapes in eight of Napa’s 16 sub-appellations, with diversification enabling the winery to make the best possible wine in a given year. This Cabernet offers layered, lush aromas and flavors, including cocoa, cassis and ripe dark berries.

Our 2017 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is comprised of 95.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3.6% Merlot, 0.5% Cabernet Franc, 0.3% Petit Verdot and 0.1% Malbec. In early 2018, the final blend was transferred to American oak barrels from our cooperage, The Oak, where it aged for 24 months. Half the barrels for our 2017 Alexander Valley vintage were new, providing a subtle, layered expression of bay leaf, coconut and vanilla to our wines. Blending before barrel aging—a signature of our winemaking style—allows blends to be based on the inherent qualities of their vineyard components before oak influence. Vintage to vintage, the resulting Cabernets emerge integrated and ready to drink upon release.

The Palate of the Napa Valley Cabernet has always been reference point for the freshness and elegance that pure Cabernet Sauvignon is capable of achieving in the new world. The 2016 is not different. This cuvee continues to be the entry point for classically produced produced Cabernet Sauvignon in the Napa Valley. Bright and fresh red fruits are showing vibrantly in the 2016 and will continue to for years to come.

"The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Calistoga, Mt. Veeder and Atlas Peak) is essentially the same size, maybe slightly more concentrated, with more noticeable tannin, but again, much like most wines from this vintage, it possesses wonderful, charming, nearly irresistibly ripe, juicy fruit, succulence, opulence and a medium to full-bodied personality. Drink it over the next 12-15 years."

A striking balance of fruit, and a thick viscous mouth feel, the 2022 Burly Cabernet Sauvignon is truly a remarkable wine that will provide years of enjoyment. Aromas of cassis and blackberry meld seamlessly with notes of chocolate, and anise. The rich, plush mouth feel elegantly transforms into sweetness by supple tannis and lovely oak integration. A wonderful mineral note shines through the whole experience. Layered, complex, and lingering, a true wine drinking experience. Wonderful now, this wine will however benfit from further bottle aging reaching its peak in 5 to 7 years but drinkable for 10 years.

57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot Like its namesake, Lillie “Firebelle Lil” Hitchcock, this wine is powerful and expressive. This wine is incredibly fragrant, a signature of the warm yet moderate growing season. Inky dark, it offers a wealth of balanced red fruit, notes of tobacco, gun smoke and dried herb.

The 2016 Lynch-Bages is primal but concentrated on the nose with blueberry and crushed violet scents. This is powerful, sensual and utterly glorious. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins, assertive and structured yet retaining ample freshness. There is a subtle marine note that comes through on the finish. One of the most profound releases from the estate in recent years...maybe ever?

Here is one more vintage to prove Las Cases deserves to be elevated to first growth. The Delon family has tended this great terroir as if they were already there. And the wine has the assured stance, the persistence of flavor that lasts long enough to become a memory, an imprint on whatever synaptic connection may store and recall the greatest pleasures of taste. The energy in the wine is remarkable: beautiful, lithe juice that carries a flavor close to tiny currants and black cherries, but a flavor all its own. The deep stones of Le Clos and the roses with their view of the Gironde seem to be there in the wine as well. Harmonious and jazzed. Perhaps this is the vintage.

Fabulous aromas of blackcurrant, blueberry, crushed stone, graphite and lead pencil. Some violets and other flowers, too. Full-bodied with incredibly encompassing tannins that are like the finest velvet in texture. The structure is superb, with so much tension and focus. Seamless. This could be the new 1990 or better. Try after 2028.

Deep ruby red, this is great stuff, broad-shouldered, laced with aniseed, liqourice, touches of bitter black chocolate, muscular tannins and a luscious fruit core. Lip smacking stuff, with 2005 energy and excitement. Gets more serious as it opens, revealing black pepper spice, sage, rosemary and white pepper. A wonderful wine, one to sink into. You can easily wait to drink this, and it will reward another three to five years in bottle, then go for decades. If you do open it, give it a long carafe. 50% new oak.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Hillside Select is another magical vintage for this cuvée. All Cabernet Sauvignon from hillside vineyards on the eastern side of Stags Leap, it offers a vivid purple hue as well as extraordinary notes of cassis, black raspberries, violets, camphor, and spring flowers, with perfectly integrated background oak. Full-bodied but not massive, it’s flawlessly balanced on the palate and has ultra-fine tannins, a seamless, elegant mouthfeel, and a great, great finish. It’s another 30- to 40-year wine from this incredible team that readers will absolutely love

Fabulous aromas of crushed fruit and stone fruit, such as peaches, together with currants and more currants. Full-bodied with polished tannins that give a cashmere-like texture that holds the wine together with succulence and freshness, as well as formed fleshiness. Vibrant. Hints of graphite and lead pencil to the fruit at the end. Drinkable now, but will age so beautifully.

Hundred Acre Ark Vineyard is a renowned 13-acre vineyard in Napa Valley, specifically on Howell Mountain, known for producing exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard is characterized by its unique geological makeup and diverse terroir, with vines planted in a 180-degree arc, giving it its name. The wines from Ark Vineyard are celebrated for their power, elegance, and aging potential, often receiving perfect scores from wine critics.

The nose on this seems more concentrated than the 2000, and the purity of fruit is stunning, with blueberries, raspberries, fresh flowers, and hints of licorice. This is perfect and complete. Full bodied, with notes of forest berries and wild raspberries, this is thick and velvety with perfectly polished tannins. You can really feel the density on this, more than the tannic structure. This is a sleeping beauty that will be utterly captivating when it awakes.

The name Parcel 41 is derived from the original agriculture land assessor’s plot number for the original ranch in Napa Valley. This wine is a crowd pleaser and pairs well with everything from braised pork to bacon-roasted Brussels sprouts.

Blend of 85% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petite Sirah and 1% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple colored, it has a very pretty, fragrant nose of warm plums, boysenberries and blueberry tart plus hints of baking spices, lavender and dusty earth. Full-bodied, rich and spicy in the mouth, it has great intensity and plush, ripe tannins, finishing wonderfully decadent.

This is an old-world style wine offering many layers of black and red cherries, raspberry, strawberry, blueberry which then go into a more aged fruit of figs, prunes and dates. Next to the fruit is some black olives, truffles, a touch of the forest floor and a hint of graphite. Behind these layers is a soft spice note of cinnamon/nutmeg. The oak is well structured with the fruit and earth notes. The tannins are big but very approachable. Overall the wine is very well balanced with a lot of old-world charm. This should age beautifully!

A Merlot-rich wine, this second wine of Bel-Air shows powerful tannins and rich black fruits. It is smoky and juicy, still solid with tannins and a dense texture. Age the wine further and drink from 2026

This Le Petit Ducru comes from the legendary 2020 vintage. It exudes intense aromas of red and black fruits, crushed violets, and touches of mocha and vanilla toast. The palate has lush ripe fruits and a plush, velvety texture supported by vibrant acidity, with fruits and spices that linger on the finish. This newcomer is a selection derived from Château Ducru-Beaucaillou’s St-Julien vineyards. Le Petit Ducru is an introduction to the estates signature style, from its complexity to its structure, by way of its balance and its elegance. A Cabernet-Merlot blend with a hint of Petit Verdot, Le Petit Ducru is a wine of balance and harmony.

This classic Napa Valley Merlot has a deep, rich color, with chocolate, cherries, fig, violets and white pepper on the nose and dark fruit, brambles and a nice richness on the palate. Drink now if you like, or cellar for a few years - this wine will continue to mature, develop and grow as time goes on.

This perfectly ripened September-harvest 100% Merlot, from one of my favorite vineyards in the Napa Valley, is deep and dark in color with black currant, ripe blackberry aromas with a hint of vanilla and mocha. Very round and rich on the palate, the flavors and textures are mouth-coating with generous and very fine tannins. The berry and mocha flavors persist in an amazingly long, ripe, and vibrant finish that lasts for minutes. This is a Merlot for Cabernet lovers.

From its tempting aromas of ripe cherry and black raspberry to its sweet, dusty tannins and supple texture, this a lush and expansive expression of Napa Valley Merlot. Luxurious flavors of black plum, rhubarb crumble and chocolate-covered raspberry mingle with hints of graphite and clove on the long, vibrant finish.

Pahlmeyer 2017 Napa Valley Merlot is a cellar-worthy wine that will age beautifully for a decade or more. The wine opens with aromas of preserved marasca cherries, rose petal, anise and a touch of soft, supple leather. The well-textured palate brings fruit-forward notes of blackberry, blueberry, raspberry and black cherry that blend seamlessly with spicy, earthy undertones of allspice, sautéed sage, black tea leaf and hints of clove before a lengthy, memorable finish.

Pale, medium ruby color. Aromas of dark cherry – round and lush, tomato leaf, amaro, herbaceous, fennel. Flavors of cherry, black tea, amaro, greenhouse, and forest floor. The structure provides subtle tannins with medium weight. Round palate with soft acid.

Traditional Willamette Valley Pinot Noir has elegant, mineral-driven body. Winemaker John Grochau fell in love with the world of wine in his early 20’s while racing bicycles for a French team in the Loire Valley. This being his introduction to wine, the Commuter Cuvée features a bike on the label. He hand harvests all of his grapes and the wines undergo a slow, natural fermentation. Commuter Cuvée is the first release of Pinot Noir each year and is a blend of multiple Williamette Valley vineyards.

The color is deep beet red with a waffle cone nose of concentrated cherry, spice, plum and grilled meat. Experientially, it’s almost as if you had been popped in the mouth in a cherry orchard at harvest, meaning its concentrated-saline Bing cherry on vibrant acidity.

This has a sultry nose with violet and dark-cherry aromas, as well as forestwood, sous-bois and spicy, earthy notes. The palate has a very rich delivery of super pure dark cherries and such assertive, driving, older-vine tannins. Delicious pinot with plenty of flavor.

Tart cherry and bramble fruits mingle with spice notes of cinnamon, clove, and cola. Elegant and focused on the palate with a blanced structure on the finish.

Aged in 30% new French oak for 10 months, the 2022 Cuvee Ruth is another wonderful Pinot Noir from Walter Scott. Sporting a medium ruby-blue core with a light orange rim in the glass, it opens with aromas of sliced red plums, macerated blueberries, crushed volcanic rocks, bitter herbs, and lemon pepper. The palate is rounded and the red and blue fruit envelops the entire mouth with its sweet, silky tannins and mouthwatering acidity. 825 cases produced.

This vintage of Los Carneros Pinot Noir is unmistakably true to variety with an aromatically inviting bouquet and striking complexity. Bright red fruit characteristics of pomegranate, bing cherry, cranberry and raspberry are seamlessly woven together with floral tones of violet and rose, balanced with subtle earthy notes of forest herbs, cinnamon and cardamom. The wine’s mouthfeel is generous and well rounded yet focused and fresh with a mouthwatering brightness and a firm back bone you expect to see in a well crafted Pinot Noir. Food pairing possibilities are limitless, or pour and serve on its own to savor its subtleties and evolution in the glass.

The wines are rich in color, virile, profound and concentrated." Likewise, Remington Norman, MW, wrote in The Great Domaines of Burgundy, "Together, André and Frédéric have propelled their Domaine into the upper échelons of Gevrey quality." Critics, too, recognize that Domaine Frédéric Esmonin is below the radar for the highest echelon of Burgundy collectors, hence the pricing is still affordable. "Of special interest here are the multiple reasonably priced Gevrey grand crus.

The 2022 Pinot Noir Les Dijonnais comes from the oldest vines on the property, planted in 1995 with all Dijon clones. Bottled in late January of this year, the wine sports a vibrant ruby hue and shows off notes of wild raspberries, mixed berries, a hint of fresh violets, clove spice, forest herbs, and brambly earth. It’s chiseled in its structure, with coiled tannins and a good deal of youthful tension, and also offers mineral persistence, with wonderful salinity and dark undertones of earth. It demands another few years in cool cellars to soften and expand as it evolves and will drink well over the long haul.

One of the greatest characteristics Russ finds in Evesham Wood's proprietary yeast that he "isolated" from a bottle of 1986 Jayer Echezeaux is the velvety texture it imparts on the wines. While we use that yeast in every Pinot Noir we make, the texture it imparts is particularly notable in this wine. The 6 barrels selected from Le Puits Sec display a beautiful balance of elegance while also concentration and power. Bright berries, plum and sage with hints of toasty oak with great length on the finish.

The Evenstad Reserve’ Pinot Noir showcases the depth, complexity, and elegance that define Domaine Serene. Aromas of dark black cherry, sassafras, cola, and delicate lilac lead into a full-bodied palate layered with bramble, juicy cherry, and a lift of fresh raspberry. Silky weight and impeccable balance carry through to a bright, mouthwatering finish that lingers long after each sip. Vibrant acidity invites you back for more, making it an ideal pairing for charcuterie, hors d’oeuvres, or classic poultry dishes like cassoulet.

Reminiscent of a beautiful Grand Cru Red Burgundy from Morey-St.-Denis, this wine displays vibrant aromas of black cherry, wild strawberry, mulberry, red plum, fresh porcini mushrooms and forest floor. Sam’s expression of the varietal is dark, full-bodied, rich, concentrated and flirtatious, aged for 15 months in 60% new French oak, but displays very little oak influence. The pureness of the fruit and velvety texture stands out and we can’t help but sing its praises and honor its quality! Only 150 cases produced and 14.8% abv.

Ripe salted wild black and red raspberries, dried violets, graphite filings and the slightest of tannins redolent of black tea leaves. Hints of blood orange. Brimming with sumptuous bright purple to red-purple fruit flavors and backed by mineral undertones and textural complexity. Balanced with both grace and full expression.

The dark garnet 2022 ‘Ma Danseuse’ displays a stunning perfume of black cherries, red rose petals, black plum, violets, and black raspberry with hints of forest floor and cinnamon. A soft entry leads to a fleshy, yet structured, intense mid-palate supported by ultra-fine tannins. The 2022 ‘Ma Danseuse’ strikes a beautiful balance between elegance and power with an exceptionally long, lingering finish. The vineyard Ma Danseuse, French for “my dancer,” is named in honor of Lady Michael by Sir Peter, who fondly remembers how they first met.

Syrah requires a warm climate to fully ripen but enough moderating effect to produce intense, aromatic wines that are not overwhelmed by sweetness and alcohol. This Syrah grows in ideal terroirs of the southern Rhône and shows the varietal’s typical spicy notes of sandalwood, violets, and black pepper.

Dark, sumptuous and powerful, Dark red cherry, sweet floral notes and cloves wrap around the intense, juicy finish.

Initially a dark, ruby red color,though during maturation it loses intensity and takes on a warmer tone. On the nose, a mesmerizing scent, redolent of violets. A warm, dry, and harmonious palate with plumy fruit flavors and an aristocratic oak overtone.

Montepulciano is both a grape variety and the name of a village. Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is the wine produced from the Montepulciano grape when grown in the Abruzzo region. On the other hand, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is produced with Sangiovese grape in the Tuscany region.

The first thing that captures your eye is a rich, dark purple hue that’s on the edge of inky. Aromas of mulberry, blackberry, and mocha entrance you further. A solid mouthfeel, the fruit reaffirms itself with blackberry, boysenberry, and raspberry preserves. Spicy notes of clove, dried sage, black pepper, and fennel appear along with Black Forest cake and that “vin sauvage” they prize. Well-structured with a solid mouthfeel, refreshing acidity, and velvety finish of fine tannins. Uncommonly layered, complex, and remarkably humble, this Dry Creek Zinfandel is a perfect complement to roasted sweet potatoes with fresh rosemary and sage sprinkled on top, beef stew (a crock pot would make this super easy), hearty grain salad with hazelnuts and cherries, or a selection of cheeses including Blue, Feta, or Stilton. Blend: 77% Zinfandel, 15% Petite Sirah, 3%, Syrah, 2% Barbera, 1% Mourvèdre, 1% Malbec, 1% Montepulciano

This is a full-bodied and well-structured wine that is incredibly full of life and born to be enjoyed with food and friends. Goes great with many foods, especially meat and barbecue.

The red 2017 Reserva, which is sold as Crianza in Spain, is their most popular wine, representing half of the total production of the firm. As is the norm here, it fermented in oak vats and matured in barrels, in this case for 24 months, crafted by their own coopers. The wine is fined with egg whites and kept in bottle for a further 12 months before it's released. I had the wine in the glass for a very long time, and it didn't stop improving; it started a little lactic and creamy, and then it got more and more serious. This is the only red they produced this vintage, so all the best grapes that normally go to other wines were used here; those selected grapes helped to keep the volume of this cuvée, and at the same time, it seems to have boosted the quality of this wine, which feels every bit as good as the 2016. It has a serious palate with fine, chalky tannins and very good balance.

Perfumed and appealing, with pretty violet, hibiscus, fresh plum and red currant notes that turn supple and mouthfilling on the palate. A harmonious wine, with singed alder and oak spice sweetness in perfect balance. The finish is lined with chalky tannins and crushed iron. Delicious.

Certified organic, head-trained, dry-farmed field blend of vines planted at Turley's winery in the heart of Napa Valley. This inky deep purple colored Petite Sirah from Calistoga might be Bob’s best yet. It opens with a mulberry and stewed plum bouquet with hints of sweet black olive, dark chocolate, espresso, and baking spice. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is well-balanced, smooth, velvety, and supple. The flavor profile is a loam and black raspberry blend with notes of minerality, oak, anise, and blueberry. We also detected hints of nutmeg and dark chocolate. The finish is dry, and its grippy tannins are very prolonged. The 2016 Amarone della Valpolicella Morandina is dark and youthfully understated in the glass, as crushed rose petals and stone dust give way to red currants. This is silky-smooth, nearly velvety in feel, with masses of mineral-tinged black cherry and spice contrasted by a twang of sour citrus. The 2016 finishes with outstanding length and depth yet is also remarkably fresh, leaving hints of hard red candy and the slightest touch of bitter cocoa. The Amarone of Prà is always so unique but in the best possible way. The 2016 is a total gem but needs cellaring to come fully into focus.
